Virginia Highlands neighborhood is an original streetcar suburb of Atlanta, with the name being taken from the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Highland Avenue. Many of the homes in the neighborhood were built between 1910 to 1930, and feature bungalows and other historic home styles. Since the early seventies the neighborhood has seen home values increase with a wave of home renovations.
As with most old home renovations, one of the primary areas of improvement have been kitchen renovations and updates. From increasing the kitchen footprint, new appliances and updated kitchens, you can clearly have the best of old style home charm with modern conveniences.
Bathroom renovations are another popular request with older home renovations. Many original bathrooms were built with less than 50 square feet of space, and typically it was the only bathroom in the home. Increasing space and adding additional full and half baths are included in renovations plans and create a great renovation return on investment.
