As we are spending more time at home these days and everyone is becoming quite a bit of a chef, is it time to invest in a new grill?

CHARCOAL GRILLS

Tried and true! These give that smoky flavor but is way slower to heat up than gas grills but they get way hotter. With that said, there are no temperature controls. You have to learn when to use direct heat and Indirect heat. Another drawback might be how messy the coals get and you definitely have to clean that out. It’s worth the mess though because the taste is classic!Did you know there were different types of Charcoal? So, if you have the time and don’t mind a bit of a messy clean up, charcoal grills are the way to go.

GAS GRILLS

Easy as they come! Gas grills offer more surface space to cook on and it’s super easy to use. Gas grills start up fast, heat up quickly and are easy to clean up. That “smoky” flavor isn’t exactly the same as charcoal, but it’s not bad. These grills come in quite a bit of sizes. These tend to be more on the expensive side but you have a lot of bells and whistles that you can add or subtract. Don’t forget that gas grills run in propane so you have to replace the tank.

OUTDOOR ELECTRIC GRILLS

These grills are best for those of you who live in a condo or are not allowed to have gas or charcoal grills due to homeowners associations. These fit perfectly on a balcony. They also are perfect for people who don’t like a messy clean up.It’s as easy as plugging it in! Caveat…not a true smoky flavor.

SMOKERS

If you have the time and truly enjoy grilling this is for you. Can’t beat the flavor. Smokers cook slower and at a lower temperature and over a longer period of time. They are good for a big piece of meat.If you are more of a grill enthusiast, this might be the way to go!

PORTABLE GRILLS

These are great to take camping or to tailgate. They use a small propane tank.

INDOOR GRILLS

This is an alternative to being outside ?. It’s just a countertop appliance but is completely suitable to get the grill marks!!

WOOD PELLET GRILLS

These grills are a super easy way to get a smoky flavor. You add the pellets, set the temperature and timer on this electric grill and you are all done. The cool thing is that it automatically adds the pallets as needed. The pallets come in quite a few different flavors of wood.

CERAMIC GRILLS

Ceramic grills have the ability to quickly heat to a much higher temperature which allows you to sear meats properly and then cook them at a lower temperature. The dome shape and ceramic materials used in the construction of ceramic grills, allows for more efficient use of charcoal, and retains heat much better than traditional grills.

Good luck finding the perfect grill and enjoy the outside!
